Digitization of Authentication Services

Effective Monday, 18th December 2023, documents for authentication/legalization should be submitted through the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs ecitizen platform mfa.ecitizen.go.ke .

Driving License
  1. Original Passport or Kenyan ID
  2. Valid Kenyan Driving License
  3. KRW 30,000
Note:
  • Old generation Driving Licences are authenticated as is.
  • New generation driving licences (smart cards) MUST be accompanied by a letter from the National Transport Safety Authority (NTSA) prior to authentication.
    1. All applicants are advised to complete their application through E-citizenplatform and proceed to get finger prints done at a Korean Police Station.
    2. Submit the completed application forms together with payment receipts and finger prints to the Embassy for onward transmission to Nairobi.

    2. Original Birth Certificate Issued in Korea
    3. Original Parents’ Passport
    4. Parents’ Kenyan ID card and Alien Registration Card and photocopies
    5. Parents’ Kenyan Birth Certificate and photo copies
    6. A formal hand written letter addressed to the Director – Civil Registration Services – requesting for the Certificate and stating why you need it
    7. Cost:KRW 5,000
    Note:
  • All procedures take at least 8 weeks.
  • Original passports should be accompanied by clear photocopies of all pages with information, stamps and/or signatures.
  • Incomplete applications will not be processed.

    2. - Applicant should indicate the Name of Place where the marriage is to be placed and the Date of Marriage when the marriage is to be held if the couple is not married yet.
    3. Original Passports of the Couple and clear photocopies of all pages with signatures and stamps.
    4. Original Kenyan ID Card and Alien ID card and clear photocopies
    5. Original Birth Certificate issued in Kenya and clear photocopy
    6. Fiancé(e)’s Birth Certificate written in English (Korean Certificates should be authorized by MOFA.) and clear photocopy.
    7. A hand written letter addressed to the Registrar of Marriages– requesting for the Certificate and stating why you need it.
    8. - It should mention: 1. Not married when applying for this certificate 2. No Parental objection from both sides (Submit letter from parents of both parties) 3. Reason(s) for not getting married in Kenya
    9. Only Applied by Kenyan Nationality
    10. KRW 150,000
    If needed,
    • Copy of Death Certificate (if widow or widower)
    • Copy of Divorce Decree Absolute (If the partner had been married before and divorced)
    • Sworn affidavit if the Death Certificate or Divorce Decree is more than two (2) years

    NB: All procedures take at least 8 weeks.

    1. Copy of passport or Kenyan ID
    2. Passport size photos
    3. Valid airline ticket
    4. Request letter explaining the emergency
    5. If passport is lost, police abstract in English
    6. KRW 100,000
